The Puppy Parlor is owned by Laura Hartenstein-Matella who has 17 years of grooming experience. Laura started out as an apprentice to learn grooming inside and out. Her teachers saw great potential in Laura so they entered her into the Rising Star grooming competition in 2005. Shortly after, Laura's teachers gave her the opportunity to take over their dog grooming business which Laura owned and operated for 4 years.
After owning her first business Laura decided to hike the Appalachian Trail and discovered her love for Maine. She grew even more patient and calm by being in nature. She then focused her attention to become a Nationally Certified Groomer (NCG) in all breeds through the National Dog Groomers Association of America. Upon completion Laura was excited to have another opportunity to own her own grooming salon. She loves spending her days nurturing animals with the love they deserve and sharing her love of grooming with everyone that comes into The Puppy Parlor.
